It’s important not to get too close.
The Bosque is a photographer’s and birdwatcher’s hunting ground during the winter. This was the view from a hunter’s blind.
What happens lately is that I shoot one thing and something else emerges. Ojo de Dios is an example. I didn’t see the greater surrounding clouds until I checked the LCD. Here I didn’t see the accompanying golden orb when shooting.
I took five shoots and the orb moves several inches from first to last. Sun refraction? Camera lens?
I prefer a lost Marfa light.
